We are seeking your views regarding the removal of temporary light segregation from Ayr Road and Fenwick Road.
Since December 2020 East Renfrewshire Council (ERC) have adopted ‘pop up’ cycle lanes on Ayr Road and Fenwick Road as part of an 12- 18 month street trial.
Although a decision on whether to retain, modify, or remove temporary measures was originally planned for June 2022, early removal of the current light segregation arrangement is emerging as a key recommendation and preferred option.
Key operational reasons include the durability of flexible delineator posts (bollards) and sustainability of the current maintenance regime.
ERC are however proposing to retain mandatory cycle lane markings and the temporary 30mph speed limit on Ayr Road until at least the end of June 2022. We would like your views on whether these measures should be retained into the future.
Additional background information and an overview of ERC's position can be viewed here - A77 Response Measures - Background
More detailed appraisal of short term options and key considerations to support early removal of light segregation can be viewed here - Options Assessment - Summary Note
